Ann Arbor Deals is a locally run, hand-verified guide to the best happy hours, weekly specials, and birthday freebies in Ann Arbor. We started this because every other Ann Arbor deals site felt like a graveyard of dead coupons. So we verify every deal, we publish the date we verified it, and we let you flag anything that stops working.

Why this exists

Every other Ann Arbor deals resource is either (a) a national aggregator that does not know the town, (b) a static list a grad student stopped updating in 2021, or (c) a tourism blog. We wanted something Ann Arborites would actually bookmark, screenshot, and text to a friend. So we built it.

How we verify deals

  • Every deal shows a Last Verified date.
  • We check deals on a rolling monthly cadence and after every flag.
  • If a deal is not verified in six months, the card shows a "may be stale" warning.
  • Readers can flag a deal that didn't work. Those flags move the deal to the top of our re-check queue.

The A2 Deal Score

We rank every deal 0 to 100 based on discount depth, recency, community upvotes, rarity, and flag count. The formula is published openly. Transparency is a feature.

A few things we will never do:

  • Popups, modals, or interstitials for Nelson.
  • Above-the-fold Nelson banner ads on the home page.
  • Paid placement of deals. Sponsor content is clearly labeled "Sponsored".

When a property address we recognize appears in our content (for example 1295 Millbrook Trail in Ann Arbor), we auto-link it to the Nelson listing page. These links are marked rel="sponsored nofollow" for SEO transparency.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell coupons. We link out, never take a cut.
  • We do not require an account to browse.
  • We do not sell user data. Email and SMS are opt-in only and used only for what you signed up for.
  • We do not publish generic national deals that happen to be available in Ann Arbor.
